Hours Per Shift: 8 hr
Performs diagnostic imaging examinations on patients, ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images. Operates equipment to produce diagnostic images according to patient cases and relevant guidelines; ensures the quality of images is satisfactory for clinical purposes. Ensures accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures; conducts image operations according to provider requests and other technical factors. Implements radiation safety guidelines and conducts proper radiation protection practices during the imaging process. Delivers excellent patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures.
Only laboratory waived testing will be performed. Specific job duties included but not limited to are drawing patient’s blood, collecting non-blood patient samples, patient testing, quality control checks, proficiency testing and competency checks for the following waived tests: quick strep test, urine analysis, urine pregnancy test, hemoglobin, finger stick glucose and finger stick INR. These test systems render the knowledge of and ability to use minor medical laboratory equipment to examine specimens according to test requests and to obtain accurate results.
Mammography required within 6 months of hire.
If working in North Dakota, must be registered or a candidate for certification by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists). If not registered upon hire, must attain registration within 1 year of hire. If working in Minnesota, must hold current registry by the ARRT . Must be a graduate of a JRCERT accredited program or be a candidate for certification. Must have a good understanding of diagnostic radiographic principles, including radiographic positioning, film processing, quality control and radiation protection. Computer skills desirable. Experience with computed radiography and PACS preferred.
