Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team in providing assistance with social, emotional and economic concerns of the client and family, thus enabling them to achieve or maintain an optimal level of functioning. Utilizes appropriate age-related client care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric clients. Works closely with additional clinical staff to achieve fiscally sound and timely continued planning outcomes.Working knowledge of the principles of team work and is knowledgeable regarding the impact of illness on the client/family. Knowledge and clinical experience in the psychosocial and economic management of problems commonly occurring with an illness and provides brief therapy as appropriate. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of all client populations.
Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of practice. Master's degree in social work from an accredited program is required with a strong preference for hospital or healthcare experience. The incumbent must apply the knowledge and skills of advanced social work practice, analyze ethical issues in practice, possess an enhanced knowledge of human behavior and development, perform independently, utilize analytical skills and work to enhance and promote best practice incorporating the National Association of Social Work Code of Ethics. Collaboration is necessary within the organization and with the communities served.
