JOB SUMMARY

Perform quality diagnostic polysomnographic (PSG) and multiple sleep latency (MSLT) recordings and provide relevant and accurate data to physicians for diagnostic use in the treatment of patients with sleep/wake disorders. To educate and follow-up patients' with prescribed therapies. Will be responsible for performing either Sleep Study Procedures or Neurological Testing for all patient populations. Expected to understand the testing equipment in detail, including its structure, function, indications for use, physiological effect upon the patient, and basic maintenance procedures. Understand and be able to apply principles of anatomy and physiology, normal and abnormal, related to procedures performed, and must have a working knowledge of the disease and pathological conditions encountered. Must be able to work with all age groups and those with growth and developmental needs of unique client populations.

QUALIFICATIONS

CPR certification required within 6 weeks of employment and re-certification as required. Registration by the BRPT (Board of Polysomnographic Technologist) is required. Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program, Respiratory Technology program, Employee Arts or other Medical specialty preferred. Continuing education may be necessary. Minimum of two years of related work experience in Sleep Disorders field preferred.
