JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the direct management of the administrative duties for Sanford's residency/fellowship program and additional Sanford programs. Must ensure compliance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Common and Specialty Program requirements. Plans and manages resident physician/fellow rotation and call schedules and coordinates with other residency/fellowship programs as applicable. Prepares accreditation documents including, but not limited to, Program Information Forms (PIF), for RRC Accreditation Review and Internal Reviews and participates as the on-site program administrator for accreditation site visits conducted by the ACGME and the USD Sanford School of Medicine GME Office. Manages and oversees recruitment activities. Maintains and updates Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) and GME electronic databases (ie New Innovations). Coordinates and administers human resource functions and participates in budget reviews and financial processes for the residency program. The coordinator must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills in applying a detailed knowledge of responsibilities, functions and underlying management structure of the department and of the larger institution in organizing and independently prioritizing work, establishing procedures and systems and ensuring orderly and timely work flow.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in a business, health care or related field is required. Extensive applicable experience may be considered in lieu of education. Must have computer experience, to include complex database management, strong organizational, customer service, project management, critical thinking and negotiation skills. Prior experience in supervision and development of support personnel, administration, and familiarity with Human Resource issues and policies. Skills in coordinating multiple, simultaneous ongoing program demands and be knowledgeable in budget preparation and allocation.
