Department Details

Work with a great team to care for our rural patient population in a critical access hospital that includes an attached clinic. The hospital has an ER, obstetrical unit, and surgical unit. This position will also be communicating with a close knit team comprised of lab and other departments within the hospital.

PRN hours may vary, but there is flexibility to work around other commitments!

Job Summary

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel and collaborates with other departments across the enterprise. Demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science required.

Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or be registry eligible.

Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment. Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications.

May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
