The Senior Tax Accountant provides professional accounting expertise by integrating Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal regulatory guidelines, and organizational objectives. Work is complex, consisting of both transactional accounting and multi-faceted financial analysis. Routinely identifies and analyzes detailed financial issues while keeping a broad, enterprise-wide perspective. Must understand relationships between all subsidiaries. Regularly identifies appropriate level of data for analysis; reports findings relevant to audience. Provides timely and accurate reporting and analysis to support leadership on financial decisions. Implements and advises on appropriate internal controls. Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and maintaining the general ledger system for assigned entities. Demonstrates expert knowledge of financial systems and procedures relevant to the enterprise and its subsidiaries. Collaborates with colleagues in accounting department and cross-functional areas to assure the integrity of financial information. Identifies areas for improvement and proactively addresses problems within scope of responsibility, while escalating issues to leadership as needed. Regularly makes recommendations for new processes; modifies existing tools, techniques, and processes with approval from leadership. Supports the development and implementation of new processes or techniques. May serve as a project leader. Serves as a resource for leadership and staff, as well as a mentor to others. Serves as a subject matter expert and keeps current on emerging professional issues. Collaborates with assigned departments and functional areas to stay current on emerging internal issues; keeps leadership informed. Must have excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills. Must have solid understanding of the global accounting system and its applications. Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks effectively. Must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail. Must demonstrate initiative and be able to maintain a high level of energy. Requires a professional commitment to continuous learning and development.


Follows tax accountng practces and explains the ratonale behind these practces. Documents practces, standards and procedures for maintaining and reportng tax informaton. Interprets major types of fnancial statements issued by the organizaton. Partcipates in the testng, review and analysis of existng internal controls. Uses fact-fnding techniques and diagnostc tools to identfy problems. Adapts standard communicaton approaches when conductng dialogue with diferent audiences or conveying messages. Shares informaton, thoughts and resources with other team members or colleagues. Partcipates in brainstorming sessions to share new ideas and complete group tasks. Performs at least 2-3 concurrent actvites without reducing productvity. Writes documents that are correct in mechanics - spelling, grammar, punctuaton, sentence structure. Accurately gauges the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights.



Certfed Public Accountant (CPA), Certfed Management Accountant (CMA) or other professional certfcaton is desirable but notrequired. Bachelor's degree in Accountng, Finance, or other Business-related degree with an Accountng minor required. Accountng degree ispreferred. Must have at least 2 years of related work experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
